Momentary | Discussing God
Discussing God is not the best use of our energy. If we touch the Holy Spirit, we touch God not as a concept but as a living reality.
Momentary is a collection of quotations from Thich Nhat Hanh's 1995 book Living Buddha, Living Christ.
In 1963 Vietnam, Nhat Hanh witnessed the Catholic Archbishop press the country's president to prohibit an important Buddhist national holiday. He would write: "It was only later, through friendships with Christian men and women who truly embody the spirit of understanding and compassion of Jesus, that I have been able to touch the depths of Christianity."
His book is essentially a kind of dialogue or encounter between faiths and traditions. The direct quotations do not in any way represent my complete theological or spiritual agreement, explicitly or tacitly. They are shared for the purpose of prompting thought, or even action.
