We were forced to take the extreme step.

To get from a school in Pakistan to a patrol car in America, you only have to travel a short distance; the pain is always closer than we think, as it turns out.

Injustices—no matter their social variety or cultural circumstances, no matter the impassioned motivations of tribal ethos cloaked in race, nationalist zeal, or especially religious belief—can never be quenched by retaliatory violence.

The life and teachings of Jesus and the events of his Cross and Resurrection compose the only alternative script I know that is true enough, strong enough, or wise enough to not cultivate or perpetuate cycles that have no end in sight.
